About checksums
A checksum is a short fingerprint of a file. If you compute the checksum of a downloaded PDF and it matches the value published here, the file has not been changed.
Current files list SHA-256 and SHA-512 (the same format as the Sabah Government Gazette). Legacy records list MD5 and SHA1 instead. Values are lowercase hexadecimal; comparison is not case-sensitive.
How to verify
| System | Command |
|---|---|
| Windows (PowerShell) | Get-FileHash .\jbn000001.pdf -Algorithm SHA512 |
| Windows (cmd) | certutil -hashfile jbn000001.pdf SHA512 |
| macOS | shasum -a 512 jbn000001.pdf |
| Linux | sha512sum jbn000001.pdf or sha512sum -c jbn000001.pdf.sha512 |
Each circular page also offers a .sha512 file that can be checked automatically.
